Ventura County has a lot of large, well-kept homes and not many buyers for a weekend estate sale. That is exactly the situation where selling online does better: the dining set still sells locally, but the collectibles, clothing and art reach the whole country instead of whoever drives up Thousand Oaks Boulevard that Saturday.
We cover the whole county: Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Oak Park, Newbury Park, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Somis, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Ventura, Ojai, Santa Paula, Fillmore. We are based in Newbury Park / Thousand Oaks, so the Conejo Valley and the 101 corridor are closest, and we are in Ojai and on the coast every week.
Day one is a walkthrough. The family signs a list of what it is keeping. Then up to three weeks of photographing, measuring and pricing everything for sale, with a shared spreadsheet you can open any time. Small items go on eBay to buyers across the country, from an eBay account in your name. Furniture and large pieces are listed for local pickup; buyers come from across the county and from the Valley. A lot of our Ventura County work is downsizing: a couple leaving a large house in Westlake Village or Camarillo for something smaller, with decades of good things that will not fit. The other common case is a family settling an estate from out of town, where nobody can be in Ojai every weekend. In both cases the house stays as it is while the items sell, and if the house is going on the market, we plan the price drops around the listing date.
